Free Agency & Waivers

  • Players are considered free agents and may be picked up and dropped at any time, up until their games begin.
  • As soon as a player's game begins they enter waivers and must be bid upon to be claimed.
  • At the beginning of the season each team is allocated $100 in Free Agency Budget (FAB) which may be used throughout the season.
    • The only limit placed on a bid is the amount of FAB a team has.
    • The highest bid wins the player when the waiver window closes (approx. 3AM EST on Wednesdays)
      • In the event of a tie in waiver amount there's a weird tie-breaker process that's based on some unknowable rolling list that Yahoo maintains in the back-end. Basically if you really want someone, make sure you're bidding enough to avoid a tie.
      • $0 bids are always allowed, but obviously this increases the chance that you'll lose out if someone bids the same amount.
